JAMS requires its arbitrators to produce reasoned awards. However, few scholars, arbitrators or judges have gone into as great depth on the topic as has John “Mac” McArthur, a Bay Area arbitrator whose book “The Reasoned Arbitration Award in the United States” will be published in the fall of 2019. The fact that Mac is a practitioner as well as a researcher and author – and the fact that Rich Chernick acts as a kibitzer throughout – results in a video and a set of materials that are as practical as they are comprehensive.
